In the latest issure of C&D, they take 97 Mustang GT and put a bunch
of performance parts on it and use it for 40000 miles (and take out 2
engines in the process!). What I found a little unnerving is that
they said, "Of course, because we put performance parts on our new
car, the warranty is now void." It's as bold as that in the write-up.
Now, as most of us know from Jack Hilton's postings, the Moss-Magnuson
Warranty Act of 1975 basically states that a manf. can't void your
warranty if it is proven that the performance part did not cause the
failure, and they have to prove that it did. Clearly, C&D doesn't know
this and has probably frightened a lot of people who put stuff on
their rides. I guess they need to be informed somehow. I just found
this very suprising that they would say this.

Dak content: Sam, did your wife swing by Canada for lunch today? As I
was leaving the mall where I read this article, I saw a
thirtysomething woman exit a SY CC R/T. Maybe that's why your gas bill
     is so big LOL :O)
