Minor Engine Problem, was Major Engine Problem

I just got off the phone with the dealership. They assure me that the
coolant that is coming from the head/crank case joint is actually coming
from the leaking thermostat. Apparently the is flowing out of the thermostat
housing, down the intake manifold till it hits the head, runs forward then
down the head/crank joint, around the front corner of the engine, then
leaves the head/crank joint and runs down the side of the engine. They
washed off the engine and pressurized the cooling system and were able to
watch the coolant follow this path. The leak at the thermostat housing is
not a bad gasket but actually a hole in the goose neck. A new one is on
order and the head does not need to be pulled.

John, I'm much more relaxed now
