Re: Looking for spare tire...

I bought my truck used, so don't know if I had a MoPar lock or not, but it
is the exact same lock that JCWhitney sells for $19.95. Let me tell you,
this thing would be a REAL B*TCH for any thief to defeat. I lost the key to
the lock and had to use a cutting torch to cut the lock apart. No cables or
anything, just a bolt with a lock on it. It's in JCWhitney catalog No. 626R
on page 42 (truck dress-up & convenience section).

As for a replacement, you can always just get an AR-767 rim from American
Racing. It's a 15x8, but only costs $36 at PepBoys or Summit (if you can
convince the idiots that they actually exist). Since it's just a spare, you
won't need the center caps or chrome lugs :-) Then go to the used tire
store and get a decent tire for $20.

btw, my spare has never been off my truck (140k miles). I just cut the lock
in case I ever 'needed' the spare.
