Sounds like you need new pads. That shudder is most likely warped rotors.
You can get the rotors turned but if you do enough hard city driving to
need ner pads at 27k they'll warp even quicker after they're turned (which
of course makes them thinner). Older Daks are notorious for warping - you
don't say how old yours is. I don't know if they have fixed that bug in the
newer models. Mine have been warped for 100K. Doesn't really hurt anything
but taht metal on metal sound you're hearing can gouge them so bad aafter
awhile you will have to replace them. $$$$ One tip - a farily small
symetrical gouge all the way around is ok even tho brake shops will tell
you it's not - had one for 100K.
