Mine is two hoses jointed together just ahead of the plastic mount near the
valve cover, 1/2 way down the engine. I had the intake manifold gasket
done, maybe mine's been cut too.

if you have a 97-99 318, can you do me a favor and look at the heater hose
that runs from the block around the left side of the engine, along the
firewall then into the heater core
is it one continuous hose?
had the truck at the dealer last week and it looks like the mechanic sliced
my heater hose - cut it in half to make his job easier, then spliced it
back together with an insert and two hose clamps
