My Uncle (may he rest in peace) would tell the dealer if they wanted to put their name on his car, then he wanted $350 for an advertisement fee. They always took it off.

Yep. My dealer had slapped a sticker on the bumper of my truck after I bought
it. I made him take it off before I left. There was a box on the final sale
paperwork that said something about me agreeing to let the dealer advertise his
name on the vehicle (via stickers, medallions or license plate brackets). I
refused to initial it so I was kinda put-off when they put it on anyway.

To un-offend them? I guess it's always good to keep on the good side of the
dealer as much as possible, but they should be happy you are spending your money
there instead of across the street. I think if they want to put advertising
all over your brand new truck then you should get a hefty rebate. I'm sorry
but the non-optional-your-gonna-have-a-sticker-if-you-like-it-or-not attitude
is one of my peeves. There's no greater feeling than riping off a dealer sticke
r!
