HI Brian,
I don't know how your alarms works, but the one that dealership put in mine
is a dual made my Loctronics. After I close the door and about 10 seconds
later, the alarm chirps once to let me know the engine kill switch is set
and the light start flashing. If I set the alarm after closing the door, it
chirps once for the alarm, then about 10 seconds later to notify my that the
kill switch has been set too. I have absolutely no control over the kill
switch. This is automatically set when the engine is shut off whether the
doors have have closed or not. I like this set up very much, but I know
that I can't set off the alarm with jumping up and down in the bed, nor
opening the tailgate. Then on the other hand, there's the white dak that
the alarm goes off if so much as a sneeze has occurred in the vicinity. Let
us know what you system you end up with and how you like it.
