Most of the "Performance" mufflers will give you a little "Buzz" in the cab.
For some of us...that also sounds "cool" as well. (Go figure) ;)

Don't know what to tell you but the FlowMaster I have also vibrates the cab
at around 2800 - 3200RPM.

Subject: DML: recommend a muffler for 3.9L V6 (long)

Hello to all my fellow Dakota owners out there.

I have a question about the exhaust on my 99' CC SLT V6.
After reading many threads about discussion on the exhaust
for the V6 Dakotas, I decided that I would stick with my stock
2.5" Dia. pipe and just replace the muffler. I chose to go with
a Dynomax super turbo muffler. It had worked well on a
previous V6 truck I had. Sounded good and not too loud.

My dakota now sounds boggy and I have a reasonance in the
cab and a buzzyness that I can feel through the floor. I have
talked to a dynomax tech and he says that any performance
muffler is going to give me reasonance in the cab.

I have also talked to one other DML member with a V6 Dakota,
who recomended using a 70 series flowmaster three chamber
muffler. I'm looking for something that will be as quiet as
possible in the cab and maybe a little louder (deeper sounding)
than the stock muffler.

Does anyone make a muffler that sounds good on a V6 and
does not vibrate the interior of the cab? Am I asking to much?

Please advise, if nothing else I think I will have another stock
muffler put back on.

Thanks to you all,
Eric W.
