Welcome Jack,
What part of Southern Cali. are you from? Sounds like you got a nice truck,
I love the color. As for the mirrors, you could use the 6x9 factory ones. I
am sure someone on the list has a spare pair from an R/T or something, after
all they can't tow much ;) hehe .

Subject: DML: Intro and mirror Q
Hello,
My name Is Jack Walker. I am new to the list. I am a software engineer
from So Cal. I have 1999 Dakota club cab 5.2L V8, in emerald green. I
like this truck very much -- no major problems so far. The radiator fan
woosh scared me though. I thought the throttle was stuck closed or
something. My truck has the maximum engine cooling option which I guess
includes a monster fan. They ought to mention this in the manual.
My truck has the stock 5x7" plastic manual mirrors. They look really cute.
;^) But, I want to tow a 21' travel trailer. I have been calling around
and can't find tow mirrors to fit. I would like mirrors that either clip
on to the existing ones or to replace the stock mirrors with ones that
slide out for towing and slide in for normal use. For the replacement
option I would prefer not to drill into any body panels so replacement
mirrors that fit the window corner mounts would be preferred. A model
number and any other helpful information would really be appreciated.
I have a pair of McKesh mirrors (clips to door) but would prefer not use
them due to potential finish damage. If all else fails I would appreciate
suggestions for protecting the points where the McKesh mirror brackets
contact the finish.
Thank You,
Jack
