well, after several embarrasing loses to Magnum 6ers, I have conquered
one (and in front of some pretty good lookin' girls too..hehe)
here is the story
I roll up on a shoppin' center, and I see about 5 daks sittin' around in
a circle. A couple R/T's, 2 97+ 6ers, and a 93 CC V8. I pull up and start
talkin' to the guys about Daks and stuff, and I told the 6er guys what I
had on my truck and my mods and what works and what doesn't and stuff.
Then one says "I don't think you could take a stock Magnum" and I said "I
can hang, but I usually get spanked" and he says "then why waste your
money on the peice of sh*t?" so I said "come get some! You're gonna feel
pretty stupid when you pull in this parkin' lot behind me. Don't let you
Aligator mouth override your truck's Humminbird ass" Apparently, this
dude had been runnin' his mouth all night to the R/T guys because they
were all about me spankin' this dude (and thought the Humminbird thing
was funny too). So then, I tell the dude to put his money where his mouth
is and fire it up. We roll out to the stoplight, and he tries to burn out
but only manages a little spin and some sqeal. I manage to reduce my
treadlife by a couple thousand miles, and engulf my truck in smoke....
good moral booster =) So the light changes and off we go. We take off
side by side, and I bark em' into 2nd. He hits the Magnum top end and
starts to pull, but I had already grabbed a truck length. He's stayin'
right on my rear tires, but I start gainin' ground toward the end of 2nd
and the slushy hit 3rd with avengence. He was gettin' farther and farther
behind, but stilll not in the "Spank o' Vision" (aka.. rear view mirror).
We are approaching shut down speed (around 75) and I am still in it and
still pullin' on him, waiting for him to give up and accept being
spanked. I had a good couple truck lengths on him at this point. He
doesn't shut it out so at 85 I get out of it. I went back to the shoppin'
center to talk some trash, and my new buddy didn't return (damn). I
chatted with the R/T guys and they were impressed with my Premag and I
preached the word of the DML to them. They also commented on the tone of
my Phat Borla =)
So, here is the verdict. Last time I raced against a Mag, I was runnin'
the 3" Flow. Now I've got the 2.5" Borla and the JET and I spanked me a
Magnum. This is one small step for Mike, one giant leap for Premags =)
