PIC Scanners

Hey,

(sorry... not much Dak content).

I would like to scan some pics of my Dakota and get them posted. Any
suggestions on the best scanner to use, software, jpeg compression,
etc...

I don't have that much experience in scanners or related software.

I assume I would need to scan, and get a good JPEG compression so the
pics aren't so large in size.

Any help would be appreciated.

Oh yeah... I am getting an Epson 636U scanner. This scanner has an
optional transparency attachment which I should be able to use to scan
35mm negatives, etc. I was thinking about getting the HP Photo scanner
later, but the Epson came with the package deal I got with my Gateway
Pentium III 600.
