You guys might be dealing with symantics here. When you say the same ratio,
generally you are correct, BUT technically the front ratio IS (slightly)
different. For example, My Ramcharger has a 3.92 ratio in the rear (9
1/4"), but the front (Dana 44) has a 3.91 ratio in it. My Dakota has the
same rear with 3.92's and the front Dana is also 3.91. The tags on the rear
may say only 3.9 but they are slightly different. This is because of the
different axle types (Dana doesn't make a ratio of 3.92 for any of their
axles, as far as I know). Same for a 3.55 in the 9 1/4, the Dana would have
a 3.54 ratio--4.11 to 4.10 etc, etc. If you have Dana 60's front and rear,
then you may have the EXACT same ratio. It's generally accepted that it's
OK to have different ratios if you keep them within .01 or .02 between both
ratios.
