Mopar has done 4.10 front with 4.11 rear in some Jeeps but that is as far as
they would (should) ever go unless you have a full time system that will
allow for difference front to rear. If you have a NP-231 transfer case, the
gears HAVE to be very close or you will understand what the big bang theory
was all about.

I always thought you could set 'em up to be within 1-2% of each other but no
more... That way you could set the fronts up a little higher for rock
crawling
and stuff. The difference seemed so small that I never gave it much
thought.
Not to mention the fact that I don't have a beater lying around to do any
serious rock crawling with. :o)

They are the same...otherwise they would be turning/pulling at
different rates when in 4x4
