Ted:
I based by opinion on a spreadsheet which I made relating all possible
combinations/permutations of tire size and rear end ratios, and how they
result in an "effective" gear ratio. I don't have the spreadsheet handy
right now (it's at work), but for a baseline of 215/75 tires and a 3.55
rearend (stock on my '92), a combination of 4.10's and 30 x 9.50 tires
(actually 29.5 as per BFG) gave an "effective" ratio of 3.80, which sounded
just like what I was looking for. Of course, you could play with the math
and figure out the "effective" ratios, or I could plug in any variable you
want into my excel program tomorrow at work. Let me know if you would like
me to plug in your numbers, Ted.
