Correct. Adjusting the TV cable will change your shift points, but the only
reason the shfits are slightly harder is because the transmission is thinking
you're under a heavier load than you actual are.... which could be a
potential problem if it's too far out of adjustment.

The TransGo kit is definately the right way to do it. It's a cheap (my cost
is just under $100 - the lowest price I've found advertised, I've got several
left in stock) investment that I would recommend to any automatic owner
looking for a more firm, durable shift. The TransGo kit also requires no
special tools, plus the installation video makes it driveway installable if
you have the time... just remember to clean, clean, then clean all the parts
again before re-assembly.
