Today's Business section of the Toronto Star has a column, headlined
"Buyback offered on Dakota Trucks".

D-C AG will now buy back "heavy weight" sports trucks from any angry
Canadian owners after overstating towing capacity. This move comes
after the Star reported last Saturday that the Canadian subsidiary
offered far less attractive options to Dakota R/T owners.

A D-C vp and associate general counsel said that the company will
buy back the trucks and not charge any usage fees, and help owners
buy a new vehicle with more towing power (Lightning?) if they wish.
Furthermore, D-C will honour the pledge to owners, regardless of
whether or not they initially bought a towing package.

He acknowledged that the company did not make the buyback offer
initially in letters to owner. He said that D-C was not
encouraging people, but anyone who called in and was unhappy
with the vehicle was given the opportunity to have it bought
back. He said that D-C discovered the mistake in December,
but didn't start informing owners until May. In Canada,
owners did not get their letters until the summer.

More than 600 were sold in Canada, 10,000 of which have
rolled off the assembly lines since 1998.
