> Richard, it sounds like you are getting hosed. Did you look in the sales
brochure to see what the tow package included. My 98 came wired all the way
to the 7 way plug and it also came with the plug to install a brake
controller and an adapter plug that converted from 7 pin to 4 pin flat. Are
you sure they just didn't throw a hitch onto a regular truck. One without
the tow package ?
Nick

Nick, I almost got in a shouting match with the parts department over this!
My window sticker said "Trailer Tow Group - $275"
When I picked my truck up no hitch, just the adapter pug and elec. brake
connector.
I looked in the small truck manual, and they mention a Trailer tow group and
also
a Trailer Prep package. One place said "includes factory hitch and seven pin
connector.
I called MBenze and they called the dealer, which resulted in a factory
hitch being
installed free, but still no factor seven pin connector. Truck already wired
with a plug
which from looking at others on the lot, should plug right into the back of
the plug.
I think I might have to do some new car browsing on Sunday night with a
phillips screw driver
if I don't get some help soon!
Thanks
