Patrick,

Your spring problem has to do with the lift of the cam your running, RT
springs are not recommended when you push the lift over .500 inch. Just a
suggestion, the installed height for springs on the Magnums is 1.640. Crower
sells springs and retainers that will give you an installed height of 1.700.
Same diameter wire as the RT springs. With the additional height, you will
see a little less spring fatigue. Seat pressure, right around 100 lbs., open
with your cam, you should see about 300 lbs. They are good springs, the
retainers are actually aftermarket VW retainers. Make sure you are using the
correct locks (round type).
