Dodge stopped using the "replacable" pinion gears in '98 (i.e. you can get
them for a '97, but there is a new electronic sending unit in the '98s). For
the '98s, the "adjustability" in the PCM is whatever the stock tire sizes
were. You can also set the axle ratio with in the PCM, so between the two
you have a bit of adjustability (i.e. for really big tires, pick the largest
tire and the lowest axle ratio)...

FYI, if you look in the back of "Truck'n" mag (or most other off road mags)
they have a number of "electronic" adjustment boxes for getting the speedos
corrected for larger tire sizes. These splice into the signal line between
the transmission speed sensor and the PCM. About $50-60 if I remember
correctly...

Thanks for the info, I was actually already going to get the gear from
the
dealer, but if you read the post at the bottom from Martin Tolentino, he
says something about the dealer adjusting the computer as close as he
could
for the size tires he has and something being too far out of the DRB3
(?)
range. Anybody know about this?? I have 33" tires now and am sure they
would be out of range.
