Pin-pointing an exhaust leak.....

I think I have an exhaust leak, but not sure where. If just started today
also. Of course, my Dak has to be running to hear the noise, but when I get
close to the exhaust system under my Dak, the good ole' Magnum power rumble
drowns out the noise I hear. I hear the noise the best from the driver's side
of the truck; it is kind of like a constant hiss noise, with a slight high
pitch noise to it. Is this an exhaust leak? If so, would a good way to find
out where this leak is, is to grab my girlfriend's stethoscope(she is an RN)
and pull my truck up on the ramps and pinpopint the leak this way? This noise
is annoying me, but maybe I can justify finally putting on an aftermarket
muffler now!!! I only have done 2 things to the exhaust system. 1) A hi-flo
cat put on when the stock one died at 75,000 miles; 2) Cut off the 90 degree
exit pipe(how it exited behind the rear passenger's side tire) and put on a
45 degree mandrel bent pipe with a 5"x2" Stainless Steel Meg's Tip, so it now
exits at the corner of the rear bumper(looks great). The noise is definately
not coming from the rear where I put the 45 degree bend/Meg's Tip on. Any
input???
