You're right about a pusher pushing air through the radiator and a
puller pulling air through the radiator, but the air flow is always
kept the same as normal (air flows through the radiator from the front
of the vehicle towards the engine.) A puller is the most common type
of fan, which is a fan mounted behind the radiator that pulls air
through the radiator; a pusher is simply a fan mounted in front of
the radiator which pushes air through it. In fact, some people
install both pushers and pullers, if they've got the room.
