This is for you folks that have a radar jammer. Although illegal to use in
my state, I've been considering looking into them. My concern is can the
cops determine you have one? (ie. does it shoot a constant speed back at
the cop radar, like 33 mph) In which case they know if they get a constant
33 mph that you probably have one. I've got a radar detector now, but I've
still managed to get 3 tickets over the past 8 years with it!(I've upgraded
the detector as new radar technology evolves). Any thoughts (Bernd)?

TIA

Kurt

Normally, I'll let ANYONE know if my Radar Detector/Jammer is going off.
Especially on the highway.

As I was coming home from Houston this last weekend, an older Chevy Truck,
an Acura Legend, and myself were all "playing around" on I-10 (80-90mph).
My lights started to come on and I stuck my hand out the window to signal
the others to slow down (also tapped my brakes several times as a warning).
We all slowed down to 65 and passed a Blue State Trooper parked on an exit
from a HOV lane. We all looked at each other and smiled...then, after about
a mile..back up to 80mph.

It is a funny "spank", but try to be a little bit more friendly with the
competition. It's the ones who get caught who give the rest of us a bad
name. Warn him/her next time.

There is a difference between a "Street Racer" and a "Gentlemen Racer".

I couldn't have done this to a fellow truck owner. Especially being the
instigator of the situation. I would have tried to warn him and appreciated
possibly making a future friend.

Long but funny,
So I am driving home in my '99 Dak 318 auto 4x4 with lots of performance

goodies so she goes good. It is late at night since I work a late
shift.
I am cruising down a main road with very little traffic and pull up to a
stop
light with a Chevy Silverado sitting there, champagne color just like in
the
commercials (CC and all). I try to get the guys attention for a little
fun but
he is ignoring me, whatever. Light turns green, I give the tires a mild
chirp
and blast off to the next stop light. Leaving the Chevy sitting in the
dust must
have upset the owner. He pulls up to me at the next light and revs his
engine a
couple times telling me that he wants a run now. However right about
this time
the old radar detector starts chirping on the Ka band, not normal I say
must be
a Cop up ahead. So I figure I'll mess with the Chevy boy and really see
if there
is a Cop. Light turns green, I accelerate just hard enough to make him
think
we are racing. Chevy boy takes off roaring up in speed fast, by now the

radar detector is screaming, so I settle down to a nice 55mph, while
Chevy
boy is cruising up past 70 or so. Well by now Chevy boy must have
figured
he spanked me pretty good, but then on come the red and blue lights...
whew whew goes the siren and chevy boy is toast. Dak lives another day
to spank more Chevs. Laughed my A** off all the way home. good night.
