The two times are independent of each other. The ET time begins when your
tires break out of the staging light. The RT time is the time from when
the 3rd amber lights until you break out of the staging light.

Theoritically, your could spin for 10 sec. or more before breaking out of the
staging light (actually saw this done once this year ... now that's bad
traction)
and still run off a great ET.
