Poor ole' ZR2(4wheelin story)

Yesterday, while I was coming home from a good day of hunting, I noticed
headlights coming from this sandpit area. To my knowledge, it is off limits;
state owned and no off road vehicles are allowed. Well I parked my Dak,
unharnessed my MagLite and walked over. Two guy, my age(24) were messing
around in of the their new(98) ZR2 S10's, still had paper plates/transfer
plated on them. They decided to see how well it could do I guess, no so great
even with the 31" BGF AT's. The really odd part though, is that the truck
really didnt even appear to be stuck. A guy and myself tried to push, since
once again it didnt look to be "temporarily delayed." So, after 30 minutes
of BSing and pushing, I said the heck with manual labor so I walked back and
got my Dak, not really wanting a Conservation Officer to pull up either. I
already had my massive rear recovery ring in(Tom knows how great/massive this
ring is!) my hitch, so I just got out my trusty ole' tow strap, attached it
to my hitch ring with a clevis, and hooked up to the front of his truck(to
his tow hooks). I was tempted to put it in 4LO, but still opted for 4HI(gotta
love that NP231 Tcase). After a small amount of throttle, out he came right
out. After a nice ego boosting session, and trying to talk him into trading
that S10 back in for a Dakota, some good laughs, and even made out with $20,
I was on my way for a nice 2 hour drive home. It is so amazing to me how
those S10/GMC ZR2's look really good(come on, they do!!!) on the road, but
cant do sqaut off-road. Another thing is the price, they sell for like
$25,000 for a new loaded ZR2, but once they get 30,000 miles on them, they
sell for $14,000. Amazing, gosh I love my DAK!!!!
