I've heard that the TV cable can be adjusted in such a way that it
feels great for street driving, but then reduce 1/4 mile times. I've
also heard bad things about the Jacob's ignition on the Dakota, and
even the MSD reducing 1/4 mile times. I'm running an MSD 6A and
Blaster SS, but I'm more interested in a smooth idle and quicker
response than a tenth of second at the track. For best track times, I
think the stock ignition is probably your best bet. As for plugs, for
best performance you should use regular Autolites. Jon Smith has dyno
results where he gained 8hp at the wheels after switching from a set
of new Champion truck plugs to Autolites.
