RE: Re: DML Amsoil

Let's see...185K miles on an engine, no excessive wear found on tear-down,
Dino-Oil was run (with two test runs of Amsoil at around 100K), and the only
reason it required a rebuild was because of a ring that broke due to age
(original ring from AMC).

Key Points here:

General Maintenance goes a long way...without any large, additional costs
(no matter what they claim). In the long run, Amsoil may save you a few
bucks more than a regular oil change at every 3500 miles. but which filter
and oil would you rather have near the end of the 25,000 mile span: Amsoil
w/25K miles on it...including the filter, or fresh quality oil and filter
every 3500 miles.

Amsoil: $8.00/qt + Amsoil Filter = $55.00 (5qts + $15.00 for the filter)
Castrol: $1.15/qt + WIX Filter = $5.75 (5qts + $5.00 for the filter)

Amsoil Changed once at 25,000 miles = $55.00
Castrol Changed 7 times to reach 25,000 miles = $75.25 (Changed every 3500
miles)
Castrol Changed 5 times to reach 25,000 miles = $53.75 (Changed every 5000
miles)

$0.02

Yes! I've been using Amsoil for years. The stuff is fantastic! Hardly any
engine wear and oil changes are 1 year or 25,000 miles. No other oil can do
that! And yes, I'm an Amsoil Dealer. I won't buy or use anything else. I
have the oil in everything I own that has an engine, two or four cycle.
