I know the 44RE is a 904 trans with an overdrive unit. If I guessing right
the 46RE would be the trans from a ram which is a 727 with an o/d unit. I
asked my trans guy the same question he said not only would I need a custom
shaft (no big deal) but it would also require a big hammer a pry bar and a
shoehorn to make it fit, simply not enough room.if you do manage to squeeze
it in there send some pics I would like to see how it was done because we
need something stronger. I hope we are talking about the same trans or I'll
look dumb
