Actually, the dealer keeps telling me that pinging won't hurt the engine.
But it sure doesn't sound like it's not hurting it.
I don't think they put new wires in; they rerouted them. And no, it
didn't help for even a minute.

I would be more concerned with what pinging is doing to the motor than
resale value. I've seen detonation kill more motors than I would care to
remember.. just out of curiosity did the new wires cure the problem at
least
temporarily?
