Have them replace it with a 4.7L - haven't heard of any pinging problems
with those engines (and no spark leak problems!).
FWIW, my engine has never pinged, always run 87-octane, plugs gapped at
0.045". Jacobs 8.5mm wires I used to have would arc and cross-fire
occasionally, though :( Got rid of them and put some Magnecors on......
