   Watch an NHRA top fuel race sometime. I don't think I've seen an
event yet where someone didn't blow their supercharger off the top
of the motor. (Good thing for those kevlar straps!) :-)

  Technically though, it isn't the supercharger or the nitrous that
causes an explosion; its a combination of factors. Heck, you could
use a 10,000hp shot of nitrous on an engine if it had the displacement,
compression ratio, fuel, etc. to support it. Same thing with a
supercharger... Generally though, someone gets too greedy with the
nitrous jets or the supercharger pulley and they start to hurt parts.
Its not the fault of the supercharger or the nitrous, its the fault
of the engine builder for not keeping the system in balance...
