Re: DC Misdiagnosis...

I think there are a lot of us Dak owners out here
who use it for a truck. There just isn't as much to
talk about if you are not modifying or racing your
dak. From what I have read the new OHC engines were
still mean't to be truck motors. The dyno curve on the
new 4.7 shows more of a narrow touque band compared to
the 318. My guess is DC is responding to the "truck
as a toy" market. Also, if you read any mags when they
rate pickups they always do it the same as with cars,
how fast it is, handling, with a few catagories for
off-road and towing. Currently Dodge is behind in
winning these side by side ratings (with the ram )
which sells the competitors trucks to people who
believe whatever the magazine says. Nobody can touch
the dakota and the mags conveniently do not include
them when rating small pickups, and they do not
compare them to the full size trucks. Look at all the
press Chebby has gotten on the new silverado. They are
getting 270 hp out of their big V8 and yadayadaydada.
Ever look at one? How long do you think these trucks
last doing real work? Even a Ferd super-duty can't
touch it?
