My ol' Dad has told me many times that foreign cars are too expensive to repair. When asked if he would own one though, he usually just say that they're the wrong color. I said I didn't know what my sister was thinking of (owns a Camry), and Dad suggested that she's color blind.

and my Dak has been very reliable! It's needed fixing a couple times, but never anything that meant I couldn't drive it. (or wasn't safe doing so)
....wouldn't drive a Coma if you payed me....

I'm not going to press this one, but a few months ago I
had problems with my Mazda 626. It turned out to be the
ignitor in the distributor. Oh well, no problem I thought,
I had just replaced the ignitor (pickup coil and module) in
my wifes aerostar...$30 bucks at autozone. I go back to auto
zone and low and behold they don't carry one. So I call Mazda,
$200 DOLLARS!!for an Ignitor module??!!...yes sir and you can't
return it. So, anyone buying a Japanese vehicle should pick out
the one they want, open the hood, pick out a part and then go to
the parts counter and ask how much it costs. Then enjoy that
reliability and overall quality.
