Rice Boys (Was Damn Texans)

While a few of these guys are probably very serious and performance minded,
the majority of the ones I see are only interested in trying to stick the
biggest spoiler possible on their car and trying to see how many fake 'Type
R' stickers they can apply.

See http://riceboypage.com/ for a good laugh.

BTW, this is not a slam against the true performance minded import guys,
it's a slam against all the wanna be's I see all over the place. And yes, I
also have owned a '92 Sentra SE-R (bought it new, my ex now has it). The
original sleeper. 140 horse, 5-speed, sway bars front and rear, 4 wheel
discs, 7,500 redline. I loved this car. Personally topped it out one time
at 131 mph! 0-60 in 6.7 sec's. And it still got 30 mpg! The
'stang/camaro/'bird guys never knew what to make of this little Sentra
kickin' their ass. And not a 'Type R' sticker on it!

At the risk of sounding like a rice boy, I have to say that the wheelie bar
is used to limit the front-rear transfer of weight during hard accel. They
went through several sets of bars before they got it right. I subscribe to
Sport Compact Car and remember reading an article about it. Like it or
not,
these guys are as serious about performance as anybody else. More serious
if you look at the cost for parts compared to American iron hot-rods. I
just wish they'd get tired of all the body-kits and clear lenses. Of
course, that's just a taste issue.

BTW, I came to the Dakota by way of a wrecked Nissan 240sx. I'm waiting
for
my insurance to go back down before I get back to the imports. Kinda
looking at the 4door Integras now. I like the stealth-type look for my
performance vehicles. Not that I wouldn't drive the wheels off a Viper if
somebody gave me one. :)
