Thanks for the info. (And I noticed the same on my 4071's...that's why I
don't run them anymore.)

Subject: Re: DML: Champion Truck Plugs (4071) - Not good
I pulled the 4071s at the track today and put in Autolites 3923.
I noticed that most, if not all of the 4071s plugs were damp at the
threads with gasoline as well (with 2 or 3 really wet at the electrodes).
I'm running the stock ignition so either the ignition or the plugs or both
are not good enough for WOT runs.
The only thing that I can say about the Autolites, at this time, is
that they seem to smooth out the engine at idle and part throttle
(haven't had time to pull them and take a look yet.
The 3923s are 1 range colder than the stock's range. Nothing special
about these plugs. The retail owner looked up these plugs (and
the normal heat range 3924s) and said that Autolite recommends that
they be run in the 360 as well as some other makes. The book said
that Autolite recommends the 5224s (I think) for the 318.
He pulled a 5224 and a 3923 from the shelf and did a comparison.
The only difference is that the center electrode of the 5224
is wider which told him that it was meant for a heavy truck.
Since I wanted the plugs for track use only, I tried the 3923s.
Much cheaper than the Champion truck 4071 plugs.
