I had a similar problem with my CB and it turned out to be a bad coax cable
conector from the antenna. Got a new one a Radio (Microsoft) Shack and it
now works fine.
Do you know of an antenna mount which will allow me to clamp to the bed?
I thought I could run the coax through the bed drain holes then back up the
bottom of my CC storage area and put the unit there.
