I know for a fact that the 30"x10.5" tires will fit on the factory rims. I
did this a few months after I purchased my '97 (with the 15x8 rims). If you
plan on 31', you'll need to lift the truck slightly...a 2" body lift will
take care of this problem. Anything more than 31's on a 2WD requires a
Suspension Lift. (I don't recommend the 3" body lift...but that's just for
the fabrication requirements.)

As for the speedo change, check with the dealership for a model with similar
tires, transmission, and diff. gears and use the speedo-gear for that.
(They cost about $10.00).

Subject: DML: Is 30x10.5x15'sTOO BIG!!!

Just a few questions for the tire techs & the technical folks out there.
One of my bosses ( not my wife ) has some Yokohama 30x10.5x15 tires he is
getting rid of ( He just bought the truck and he says they make too much
noise rolling down the street YEA RIGHT!!! )and I was thinking of putting
them on the Dak for the winter. What I'm wondering is are these things going
to fit on my 2WD '00 on the stock 15x8 rims or am I going to have some
serious rubbage. Right now I have the stock 255/65/15's and no lift kit.
Also
I know it will affect the odometer but by how much. <snip>
