I have a sungtop tonneau on my dak and it doesnt have any visible plastic
trim around the edge of it. It has a gasket that runs all the way around
just inside the lip of the cover but it's not visible when the lid is shut.

black plastic ...? do you mean the gasket around the
hard cover to keep the rain and outside dirt from
getting in your bed ?
