Whoo! that brings me to the conclusion that I have a crappy timing chain.

<< I didn't write anything down at this point into a spreadsheet...but the
timing advance at idle is pretty steady at about 17. (16.5, 17.0 17.5,
16.5, 17.0). I also noticed that at 2000 it's already at 32. I'll have to
pull the JET chip out to find out what the stock timing curve is and plot it
out.
