Yes, using *your* method it will restore lost back pressure. However, the

didnt mention any other mods from the cat on back. Also, I think he had the
V8. :)
Stock V8's, correct me if I am wrong have 3 inch from the Cat back.
*I* lost back pressure...as I am sure he will also with his V8, *unless* he
mods the cat back.

After installing the 2.5"-IN/2" Dual-OUT on my V6...the low-end improved as
well as the mid and top end.
I double checked my part numbers and here's what i'm using: P/N# 425502
To prevent too much backpressure being lost, I had the muffler shop install
2" pipe from the Cat on back with an adapter to the Inlet of the Flowmaster.
This doesn't loose any backpressure...contrary to popular belief. (With the
pipe and inlet sizes that is.)

Yes it will effect your back pressure. You will notice a slight decrease
in low end torque. :)
