Re: When a deer and a Dakota meet as 40 MPH +!

The grille is a flimsy piece. it's plastic and in my opinion, couldn't take
a 2 mph hit from anything. Anyways, The new Eclipse and buggy bumpers are
weird. After being hit, they expand back out and kinda pop in the original
position... My friend with a 98 ram rear ended a newer (98, 99) eclipse last
week.
Eclipse: 400 dollars of damage
Ram: over 3 grand

I don't know about the big shiney chrome bumpers, but the new foam technology
seems to have us beat!

<< Dodge definitely made the bumpers on the Daks to stand up to some hits. I
hit a deer this weekend squarely in the front of my 4X4 going over 40 MPH.
The deer went though my grill, into the AC and pushed the radiator into the
fan. It sounds bad but other then the mechanical pieces I just mention, all
body and bumper parts survived undamaged. (Except the grill). I am just
 waiting
 for the estimate.
