this may be a shot in the dark, but I would try to get a 22 gal out of a premag, then use a block-mounted fuel pump and in-line filter. That's how the system was on the 87-91's (maybe even longer).
I don't know about the Ram's tank as far as the shape of it is concerned, but looking under my truck I don't see room for a big honkin' 30 gal job =)
