It's a sad day!! Were you buying or leasing? And how much per say did you
end up getting back...payments, downpayments, etc...? Thanks and good luck
with a future dakota!!

Well , as of Saturday , December 11th , 1999 @ approximately 1630 , my
black 1998 Dakota R/T Club Cab is now the property of DaimlerChrysler
Motors .

The truck was beautiful as I had it detailed the day before and also had
the ding in the door removed . (BTW- if you ever need a ding removed, call
a dealer and ask if they use a paintless dent repair guy. Cost me $30 ,
took 15 minutes ,and it looks like it was never there.)

I took two rolls of pics of the truck , partyly because I wanted to
remember the day , and partly to cover my ass in case they try and screw me
for some reason.

Of course I knew that I could not get this done without one last hitch .
Kim Ogden had confirmed for me on Friday that she would have all of the
paperwork including my check at the dealer on Saturday by FedEx . Of course
, the stuff never showed up ,really screwing me up and ticking me off .

Of course the guy that will be doing this is the sales manager for the
dealership , which can be good or bad . They immediately strated trying to
talk me into another vehicle . They want to sell me a 99 Dakota Sport
V6/5-speed for $13k . No Sale . I am going to buy something old and a
beater for commuting and have no payments ,but I'll let them think I am
interested so they are nice to me on the truck details .

I am now trying to decide between a 73 Roadrunner 340/4-speed and a 74
Charger SE 400/4-bbl/Auto , both in near mint shape , both asking $6500 . I
think I'm gonna go with the RR .

At any rate , I want to thank everyone on both the Dakota Mailing LIst ,
and the Dakota R/T list for enlightening me in so many ways . Not only in
how to make my truck fast or look good , but also in meeting new people ,
and making lifelong friends .

For all of my fans :) do not fret......I might try and get an older Dak to
use as my commuter .

PEACE
