It's an employer requirement, not mine. Even if all our gear (we're talking a
corporation with 2000+ desktops, 2 mainframes and 16 AS 400's) were certified
Y2K, I'd still be on call. So I gotta hang out by the phone and wait and see
what happens. Fun, Fun, Fun... ^_^ Cowabunga!

So why not do some preliminary testing by setting the dates forward and
verifying the RTC rollover. (Remember SP5 still requires hot Fixes for Y2K
compliancy and UNIX doesn't really matter until 2036 anyway...hardware wise
that is.)

We're also sending out an email to have everyone shut off their machines
before they go on vacation, or on December 31...just in case. That way,
ONLY the servers run (which we already verified as Y2K compliant) and we
can go out and have fun over the "Turn of the Century" party. (No...it's
NOT the New Millennium...not until 2001.)
