A Cobra 148GTL is a nice rig, costs about $150. Basically they are all the
same chassis just different features/name. The Uniden Grant and Cobra 148GTL
are the exact same chassis. Remember you get what you pay for. The older
chassis you could push 10 watts out the back, and go up 60 channels(from
above ch40) and down 15-21 (from ch1). Just can't mod these newer radios
like in"the old days". I have and still use a Teaberry Stalker IX Export
which was built in 1984. If you can buy an older radio (President Grant's
and Cobra148GTL's, any side band Midland). These you can mod for power, and
channels. Email me privately I have some links for mods...
