Frank,
I buy mine at Home Depot, actually am headed there now to pick up some more.
I just love it for everything. Instead of using normal electrical tape,
which might crack or lose its bond over time, Liquid Electrical Tape wont.
It comes in a small metal can, which lasts forever. It has a brush built
into the screw on lid so you can brush it on just like paint, it is just
alot thicker. I want to say it it like $3-$4, you can also get it at
Ace/True Value Hardware Stores, in the electrical sections. No need to heat
it up, as it is already in liquid form, more like a thick gel though. It
hardens to a certain extent, dries almost with a rubber feeling to it. I
would imagine you would use it for just about anything. I never ever use
normal electrical tape anymore either. Whenever I am soldering and want
waterproof/rustproof connections, I just brush it on and that's it! I have
even coated hand tools with it; with open end/box ended wrenches, I just
coated the entire solid part end to end. I have coated all 4 tow hooks with
it, my rear reciever for my hitch, and my rear tow rear for my hitch to make
it rattle free. Options are endless really. I even think it comes in 2-3
different colors. Dry time is also short, maybe 5 minutes; depends on room
termps of course. Good Luck with it!! I just wish I could buy it in gallon
form! hehe, just kidding.....
