To answer that question, probably not. I was pulled over by an officer in
Santa Monica in October after returning from a show. I had my clear
taillights on for the show and didn't change them back. I heard a siren in
back of me and saw a big white old Chevy cop truck. He pulled me over and
started to walk towards the cab. He stopped when he hit my rear tire and
read the DML sticker. He asked if I was a member and of course I replied
yes. He informed me of the clear lights being illegal, I proceeded to tell
him I knew and was coming back from a show and showed him the trophy in the
passenger seat. For the next 20 minutes we talked about Daks and he told me
how the Santa Monica PD would be receiving a new R/T soon and how he was
trying to decide between the 4.7 or R/T for himself. I gave him a flyer for
my magazine and told him to get in contact with me. And he let me go. My
girlfriend and I were laughing about the situation the rest of the way home.
Only if all cops were this nice and enthusiastic about Dakotas.

If someone knows this officer is on the R/T list, could you please ask him
to get into contact with me. I think his name was Greg, but not positive.

Yeah pretty cool! I've seen them romin' around SM myself. Wonder if they
pulled one of us over they would actually write a ticket or just want to
talk Daks? Doubt it.
