   The auto may be heavy duty, but so is the 5-speed. The NV3500
is definitely no rally car tranny than you can just "snick" through
the gears with; the NV3500 can be a challenge to get down the strip,
and I've got the bent valves to prove it... :-( This is why once
I build up my engine and need a heavy duty tranny, a competition
727 (w/manual valve body) will be installed instead. Nothing against
the 5-speeds; manuals are my favorite as well, but facts is facts,
and for dragstrip duty, I don't think you can go wrong with an
auto. (Unless of course you want to step it up a notch with a
Jerico or Lenco...)
