I think that you wrote in a subsequent post that you had flushed
your rad previously. If this is the case, it might be possible
that you have air trap inside the coolant system. Run you engine at
idle with the rad cap off until the coolant bubbles for a little
bit (some may overflow out) and top up if needed. Drive around
a little and watch your temp gauge.
