Just a quick question Mark - what mixture of coolant/water did you put back
in? Plain water transfers heat much faster than a coolant/water mix. If
you have a weak mix, more heat is removed from the engine at a faster rate
than what the radiator can remove. That could be why your temp rises at
idle - less airflow. Anything less than a 50/50 coolant/water mix is not
enough no matter where you live.
