Thanks. I forgot to mention, I do have the Chrysler manual and did follow
all their steps for the 2wd and 4wd (except for removing the front drive
axle) and it still does not have clearance to be removed. I even tried
rotating the crank for optimum clearance.
The pan is hitting the bottom of the block up front, and hitting the
flywheel in the rear about 2" up from the bottom of the tranny housing. I
don't know where I am going to gain another 2" clearance without pulling the
engine. Before I do this, I will slit the new gasket to clear the pickup
tube and just RTV the thing back together. I can't believe you'd have to
pull the engine (in a truck no less) to remove the oil pan. This is
ridiculously close to a rice burner procedure.
